We where both looking for a worry free and
relaxing holiday and you provided this and more... Your welcome
gesture of a bite to eat and a drink was lovely and the Paella you
cooked was something special and appreciated. Kind Regards Steve &

accessatlast assured us that it would cater for
all our needs, and we can promise others that it more than met our
needs. My husband has advanced MS so is unable to transfer
independently etc. We have rarely found accomodation which provides
a hoist, commode, wetroom electric chair, accessible pool and even
an electric bed. This was a real home from home but better. On our
arrival at Oasis, Paula and the ever present and helpful Rolf were
there to welcome us, show us round the accomodation and provided us
with a meal. The snack as they called it was perfect and meant we
could unpack, relax and eat. We had the smallest of the 3 apartments
but for us it was more than adequate - we spent little time inside
during the week apart from sleeping and getting up. The weather was
perfect with shade for my husband, and sun and sunbeds for me. We
even hoisted him into the pool 3 times - his first 'swim' for years.
Flotation aids were provided but the hoist was a bit difficult for
us and needed some personal modifications. Certainly a chair hoist
would have been easier but we managed. The wetroom was fine but the
toilet was too high for the commode so again we had to improvise.
Paula, her husband Peter, son Philip and Rolf made us so welcome,
fed us paella and sangria one day and made our stay in their Oasis
and real treat. We had the use of an electric wheelchair and went
miles and miles, the batteries never seem to run out. I would not
have enjoyed pushing a manual chair due to distances and hills,
electric is certainly easier. The beaches were beautiful with a
fully accessible prominade to enjoy. We soon learnt our routes to
the supermarkets, beach and town without kerb issues. The
accomodation was clean, tidy and welcoming, with perfect hosts whose
presence never intruded on our privacy but were there when we needed
anything. We can thoroughly recommend the apartments and hope to
return soon.

Five of us travelled to La Esperanza during August 2007. My 23
year-old daughter is C3 tetraplegic and partially ventilator
dependent so we had 10 items of luggage, plus a wheelchair to take
with us. We travelled from Manchester to Alicante with Thomas Cook,
who whilst OK were not great. Peter, the owner of La Esperanza
organised transport from the airport, but it was immediately
apparent that the accessible taxi was nowhere near large enough to
take the five of us plus luggage, so we had to travel in two taxis
which cost us 335 euros return - a big expense that could have been
accurately budgeted for with better information. We arrived at La
Esperanza about 10.00pm and were made to feel very welcome by Paula,
Peter's wife. There are three ground floor apartments, of which we
occupied two. Accommodation was relatively simple, but clean and
comfortable with good amenities such as microwave, coffee machine,
ceramic hob, TV, DVD and satellite. One of the main attractions of
the property was a large pool (unheated) with a good hoist. The
property is located about 15 minutes walk from the beach and about
10 minutes walk to two large supermarkets that have everything that
you could need. The promenade shops and restaurants were accessible
and made us feel welcome. It is really easy to get to the
supermarkets and beach, but getting back is not quite so easy as it
is an uphill walk to return to La Esperanza. Walking up the main
road is not too bad as the incline is relatively slight, but the
final few hundred yards can be a real struggle in a manual chair,
especially in the heat. Both Peter and Paula are very hospitable and
helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Peter cooked a fantastic
Paella for us - it was certainly the best we have eaten in a long
time. So would we go back? Yes in an instant. Recommended

Super relaxing vacation with/without wheelchair possible

Hotel La Esperanza Oasis is a fully
handicapped accessible resort. Hotel La Esperanza Oasis in Calpe is
ideally located near shopping facilities. The competence of the
staff in their ability to communicate in other languages was well
above par. As mentioned by Nadine, the diversity of food and drinks
offered was excellent. The pool is excellent. Extremely impressive
was the cleanliness of the room.

Hotel La Esperanza Oasis is an ideal
resort for families. Getting to the beach from the hotel is a piece
of cake. Hans-Joachim said that checking-in at Hotel La Esperanza
Oasis is a cinch! In Hans-Joachim's opinion, there was a fantastic
assortment of food and drinks. The pool is excellent. Hans-Joachim
reported the bathroom was super.
